“At this stage I am still developing my visual ‘voice’ and determining how to communicate my view of the world through technique and subject . Do my paintings need to simply record what I see visually or will they express something more of my inner experience of the world?”
Chelsea Cordova is mainly self taught and the training she has received has been in the form of periodic lessons and workshops. Her home studio is in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, where she resides with her husband and two daughters. Her main interest in painting is painting from life particularly out of doors. She prefers to paint Alla Prima, or all at once, wanting to capture the impression of the subject at hand in a painterly fashion as well capture an essence of her immediate mood.
